Dan Satterberg, loyalty to the letter R and insanity

Dan Satterberg has the job title of King County Prosecutor. Until recently he was a “Republican.” In reality, Satterberg is neither. He refused to defend your right to vote against government-funded heroin dens; he refuses to prosecute heroin dealing, meth-cooking and dealing, most property crimes, criminal trespass and a host of other laws. Satterberg’s office has placed violent, teen gang members in diversion programs where they apparently went on to murder people. These positions are not Republican, nor are they in line with being the county’s prosecutor.

He may be against everything and anything we stand for, he may have sold his office to the SEIU, he may be utterly destroying our region, but that’s a pretty R by his name, ain’t it?

Until Dan put a “D” by his name, professional Republicans and people in media who have constructed their life around being part of the social circles of professional Rs, have been willing to support a man whose regular course of business is to refuse to prosecute heroin dealing, heroin consumption, property crimes and gang  crimes, meth-cooking and criminal trespassing.

Fecklessness, like elections, has consequences

Here is a brief snapshot of the environment created  by Satterberg’s professional impotence and pandering to leftist social justice warriors. As you read, keep in mind that the Republican Party apparently made no effort to recruit a candidate to run against Satterberg, that Satterberg waited until the filing deadline to officially become a Democrat, that the Republican Party could push hard for a write-in candidate, but will not because their job is electing people with Rs by their name, regardless of what they actually do in office. It is insane that being a “Republican” means, well, nothing but having a letter by your name.

As of 11:29 a.m. Sunday, this is the Satterberg-policy weekend:

One killed in stabbing near Alki Beach

Police are searching for the person responsible for stabbing a man to death near Alki Beach Saturday night. Witnesses started calling 911 just after 10 p.m., reporting the incident near Alki Avenue Southwest and Harbor Avenue Southwest. Officials said the victim was in his 20s. They said CPR was attempted, but he later died at the scene. No suspect description has been released, and detectives believe the attack was not random.

16-year-old arrested in deadly overnight shooting of SeaTac man

A 19-year-old man was shot in the head and killed Friday night at a home in SeaTac, and a 16-year-old suspect is under arrest, officials said. King County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, a residence in the 14700 block of 29th Place South, at about 9:30 p.m. after dispatchers received a 911 hang-up call. The 911 caller was reached and said that someone had been shot in the head. When officers arrived at the home, they found a 19-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound, said Sgt. Christine Elias of the King County Sheriff’s Office. Several other people were also in the home. The firearm used in the shooting was found, and a 16-year-old suspect was arrested. He was booked into the King County Youth Services Center.

Teenager shot, killed at park in South Seattle

Police are looking for whoever is responsible for a deadly shooting at Martha Washington Park in South Seattle. Officers responded to a call for shots fired at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses told dispatchers that a 17 year old had been shot several times. Officials said the victim was with three other young men at the park when a car pulled up and someone started shooting. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.
