Drivers won’t be able to use the southbound lanes of the Alaskan Way Viaduct between Friday night and Sunday morning.
The southbound lanes between Battery Street Tunnel and the West Seattle Bridge close at 7 p.m. Friday so the state can pave a section of Highway 99 near the stadiums.
The closure is expected to last through 6 a.m. Sunday.
Add this to a small list of summer closures drivers are dealing with this weekend.
The lower Spokane Street Bridge is undergoing repairs after operators discovered a hydraulic fluid leak during an inspection Wednesday. Repair work is expected to take several more days, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation. Detour routes are marked at Chelan Avenue SW, First Avenue S, East Marginal Way, and Harbor Avenue SW.
On I-90, 24/7 lane reductions and traffic shifts continue. Drivers traveling over Snoqualmie Pass should expect delays all weekend in either direction.
Highway 2 work postponed
The work that will shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 2 between Lake Stevens and Everett was postponed for the third time on Friday afternoon.
