Dori: Where is Jay Inslee on Dems’ 2020 pick list?

Jay Inslee...

Dori wonders why Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (pictured to the right of Attorney General Bob Ferguson) was left off of the Democrats' recent poll for 2020 favorites. (Washington Governor's Office)

I’m mad at America. But more precisely, I’m angry at Democrats in America. You’d better believe a Dori Rant is coming on.

In a brand-new poll that has just come out today, the Democrats’ number-one pick for their 2020 presidential nominee is Joe Biden, getting 32 percent of responses. Number-two is Hillary Clinton, with 18 percent. Third is Bernie Sanders. And their fourth choice? Elizabeth Warren. Other Democrats included in the poll are New Jersey Senator Corey Booker, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, California Senator Kamala Harris, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Where is Jay Inslee? Many thought that Jay Inslee was going to be the next President of the United States. I am outraged of the short-sightedness of the Democrats in America. He can’t even make the “also eligible” list? He has been prepping for this his whole life. He has been calling press conferences, doing national TV appearances, traveling around the world to environmental conferences, and suing the Trump administration.

Just think if Jay Inslee could do for America what he has done for Washington. No tax hikes in the six years he has been governor. Oh, okay, maybe that was a lie. But look around — just look at what a wondrous city Seattle is. I know there are a few homeless people and that there is kind of a horrible heroin problem. And I get it that our state unemployment rate is worse than most of the nation. But what we need is a generation of young people to be positively influenced by Jay Inslee.

I know he told me he wouldn’t raise taxes, but he told CNBC that he would have to raise taxes for America. It might be a hard platform to run on, but that’s the kind of bold leadership citizens need. But it goes way beyond that — as president, Jay Inslee will inspire a generation young people with his incredible oratorical skills as he talks about “the long arc of justice that bends toward justice.” And of course, he will share the “best weed in the United States” with the rest of the country.

So Democrats of America — this new Harvard poll out today is shocking and disappointing. It is time for President Inslee 2020. Come on America, get your act together.
