A large plume of smoke could be seen across Seattle Wednesday night as a fire smoldered at a warehouse in the SoDo neighborhood.
The 3-alarm fire happened in the 3600 block of East Marginal Way S. where several scrap cars appeared to be burning.
The Seattle Fire Department said no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
Several roads around the fire and West Seattle Bridge were closed. Both directions of Highway 99 were temporarily shut down.
Firefighters had the fire out just before 9 p.m. but remained on scene for any hot spots.
A KIRO 7 reporter said she could hear explosions at the warehouse.
Just got to the scene of this raging fire off Hwy 99 at an industrial complex. We’re hearing explosions. You can see black smoke for miles. Trying to get more info. @KIRO7Seattle pic.twitter.com/2l9QdqA0AN
