A man was killed after being hit by a dump truck on southbound I-5 in Seattle Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred at 7 a.m. near Seneca Street.
It remains unclear why the man was on the freeway.
The ramp from southbound I-5 to eastbound I-90 was closed for more than an hour as police investigated the scene. The drive from Everett to Seattle took approximately two hours during peak travel times.
The road completely reopened at 9:15 a.m.
According to witnesses, the man was attempting to cross I-5 from the west side of the freeway when he was hit, Washington State Trooper Rick Johnson says.
The driver of the truck told investigators that the man ran in front of the vehicle.
