As expected, Seattle is hovering in the upper 80s on Monday. The mercury reached 87 degrees by 2:15 p.m. at Sea-Tac Airport.

Puyallup — 86
Renton — 83
Arlington — 82
Bellingham — 78

It won’t get hot enough in Seattle to break the record of 98 degrees, KIRO 7 Meteorologist Claire Anderson says. The National Weather Service in Seattle reported 93 degrees at Sea-Tac at 4:39 p.m. on Sunday, breaking the old record of 92 degrees for that day. The previous record was set in 1958.
Sunday also marked the first day of 90-plus degrees in 2018.
Relief begins Monday night, when temperatures dip into the mid-to-upper 50s. The National Weather Service says cooler temperatures will return on Tuesday and Wednesday with a “low level onshore flow.”
The National Weather Service reminds you to not leave pets and children in the car, to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade or indoors, and to be mindful of embers and sparks.
