Three men with gunshot wounds were dropped off at a Burien medical center Sunday night, but gave police a different story, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
The victims told police they were shot near the intersection of First Avenue South and Southwest 146th Street at about 8:20 p.m. and then ran to the nearby Kaiser Permanente medical center for help. One of the victims then called 911 when they realized it was closed.
Medics were called to the scene to treat the victims and take them to Harborview. All three men had been shot in their legs.
Officers combed the area for evidence, but found no shell casings no witnesses who heard any gunfire.
After looking at surveillance video from the medical center, police discovered that the three victims had been dropped off there.
It turns out the men found an open door at the medical center and got at least inside the vestibule, realized the office was closed, and that’s when one of them called 911.
Investigators don’t know who shot the men or where it happened. A detective interviewed the victims at the hospital, but they were not cooperating.
Investigators looking into the possibility that the shooting was gang-related.
