Big T's Catch Of The Day: Nature's Cure for Election Hangover

Ok, it's the day after the election. While some races are still undecided, it's time to celebrate, and it makes no difference what your politics are.

We are finally free! Free of the onslaught of political advertising (which ran into the billions of dollars nationwide this cycle); free of the neighborhood yard signs; free of the guessing about accuracy of the polls; free of the water cooler bickering at work; free of family disputes over politics; free of the media telling us how to think; free to get on with our normal lives. It feels like we need, as a nation, to take a collective shower, get some fresh air and a good dose of nature's beauty.

Coincidentally, the snow geese have arrived in the beautiful Skagit Valley I call home. Thousands of these majestic birds return each year from the north to spend their winter here in the warmer climate where they can feed and stay alive.

There is something wonderfully therapeutic about watching these birds taking off, landing, screeching, with smaller flocks joining together to become one huge moving mass of white.

Here's a great video of our snow geese found on You Tube. Enjoy! And come visit the valley sometime; it's a great way to leave elections and city problems behind.
