You shared your thoughts with Ron and Don today as the people across the Puget Sound remembered Kathy Goertzen. Here is what some of you had to say …

Marian writes…

Kathi’s passing represents such a loss, not only to her family and friends, but to our entire community. She was an inspiration to me as I deal with numerous health issues. She will be missed.

Lissa writes…

My mom told me once that Kathy remind her of Princess Diana……they have the same smile and warmth. We will miss your beautiful smile and strength. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

“Earlier today I was looking at some of the pictures of Kathi over the years and just the gracefulness and beauty – I was actually thinking that she looked like Princess Diana,” Producer Libby agreed.

Kris writes…

Kathi was MY FAVORITE! We left Washington in 2004, to central Oregon. Then in 2011, to Austin, Texas. I have NEVER found another favorite.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kathi’s family and friends. May God help you all deal with your tragic loss!

Sincerely,
A big fan if Kathi

Suzanne writes…

I can’t help but feel as though I have lost a family member today. I grew up with Kathi in my home and remember the births of her girls. While I never knew her personally, my heart is mourning this wonderful lady.

Ilene writes…

An amazing woman, and true inspiration on every level. Prayers for comfort to all those family and friends.

“That’s the hardest thing in a news anchor, you want someone who is telegenic and attractive and at the same time approachable,” said Ron. “Kathi really walked that line.”

For Don, his love of Kathi and her work even extended to a crush. “When I moved to the Pacific Northwest in the early ’90s. I’ve always had a crush on her. I was bummed to find out – not only was she 10 years older than me, but she already had a wonderful husband, and two beautiful daughters.”
