Oct 9, 2012, 4:44 PM | Updated: 5:55 pm

A woman has been arrested after two sick children, one of whom died, were found in car in Marysville.

The woman is being held at the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of child neglect and criminal endangerment.

Tulalip Police found a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old on Monday in a car parked in Marysville.

Emergency responders say the 1-year-old was unresponsive when they arrived, and the 3-year-old was obviously ill. Both were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

Which child died, the cause of death and the condition of the survivor were not immediately clear.

Tribal Chairman Mel Sheldon told KING 5 that the community is grieving, both for the child that passed away, but also for the family. “Any time we lose somebody it just affects us so much.”

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
