Weather forecast for Seattle area trick or treaters

Forecasters say the heavy rain that began Tuesday in Western Washington will continue through Halloween night.

Before the pumpkin candles burn out Wednesday, up to two inches of rain is expected to fall across Puget Sound.

"It's raining out there now," says National Weather Service's Arthur Gable. "That will continue on through this evening for Halloween."

High temperatures are expected to hit the mid 50s to the low 60s on Wednesday.

Gable says the Olympics and Cascades will see up to four inches of rain before this system moves on Wednesday night.

A flood warning has been issued for the Skokomish River, which frequently floods in Mason County. The National Weather Service also issued a flood watch Wednesday for some rivers in King and Pierce counties and a flood advisory for most of Western Washington for urban and small stream flooding.
