Schools, post offices, and most bank and credit union branches will be closed Monday for Veteran's Day

A lot of people have the day off in commemoration of the annual Veterans Day Holiday. Schools are out, the post office and most bank and credit union branches are closed.

Parking is free on Seattle city streets.

Metro buses are running on a reduced weekday schedule. Sound Transit buses, the Sounder train and Light Rail will run on a normal schedule, along with Pierce Transit and Community Transit. Kitsap Transit is operating on a Saturday schedule.

Ferries are also running on regular schedule.

In Seattle and Bellevue, garbage, food and yard waste, and recycling will be picked up on the regular schedule. Bellevue pickup also will be on a regular schedule.

The Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle Aquarium and other local attractions are open.
