Missing boy found safe in Montana; Amber Alert canceled

A missing 3-year-old boy has been safe in Montana prompting officials to cancel an Amber Alert spanning five states. The alert was issued Thursday when the boy was reported abducted in Elk River, British Columbia.

Police believed Alvin Barnett, 3, was abducted by his biological father, Robert Barnett.

The two were last scene crossing the border in Eureka, Montana at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Barnett was driving a blue, 2002 Subaru Outback with a British Columbia license plate 347SBL.

Alvin is 33 pounds, 3'9", has brown hair and brown eyes and was last scene wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. Robert Barnett is 5'5", unshaven with some facial hair, and has reddish blonde hair. He has a scar above his right eyebrow.

    Nine time out of ten, he's just fed up with being jerked around by the ex-wife and court system and just wants to be with his kid...

    The really dangerous ones (i.e. powell) don't really give you time for the amber alert.
