One of three teenagers convicted in the death of Seattle’s “Tuba Man,” could now face federal prison time for the latest in a series of run-ins with the law.

William Chambers, 19, faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years supervised release if convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Seattle this week, Chambers was arrested in Burien on Oct. 3 after King County Sheriff Deputies discovered a stolen AR-15 rifle in the trunk of his blue Ford Crown Victoria.

Chambers has prior convictions for attempted assault, felony theft, robbery and manslaughter.

The latter charge stemmed from the October 2008 beating death of Edward McMichael, also known as the “Tuba Man.” McMichael, 53, was a popular street musician who often performed at Seattle sporting events.
