Washington Lottery cashes in on Seahawks mania
on January 8, 2013 @ 4:45 pm (Updated: 4:55 pm - 1/8/13 )The Washington State Lottery expects upwards of one thousand Seahawks fans to converge on the Southcenter Mall Wednesday for a shot at tickets to Sunday's NFL playoff game in Atlanta.
The Lottery is offering a drawing for two sets of trips to the big game. Contestants have to buy two $5 scratch tickets with cash at the Lottery's Scratch Bar between 3-7 p.m. to be entered.
It's the second week in a row the Lottery has held a drawing for Seahawks tickets. Director of Communications Arlen Harris says the response was overwhelming.
"It blew our minds how many people came down. So we're expecting 800, maybe one thousand, maybe more," Harris says.
Harris says people can start lining up for the drawing starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Westfield Southcenter Lottery Kiosk in Tukwila. The first 800 people in line are guaranteed a chance to enter the drawing, but Harris says the Lottery hopes to be able to accommodate even more.
Along with the grand prizes, which include airfare, two-night hotel stay and two game tickets, contestants can also win an autographed Seahawks jersey and helmet along with a $100 Seahawks Pro Shop gift card.
The winner will be drawn at 7:30 p.m.
