Amanda Knox has maintained her silence since returning home from Italy a free woman. Now, she will have her first sit-down interview with ABC News.

Knox was a University of Washington student studying abroad in Italy when she and her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were accused and convicted in 2009 of sexually assaulting and murdering Meredith Kercher, a 21-year-old British student who shared an apartment with Knox in Perugia.

Knox was convicted to 26 years, Sollecito to 25. Both had been in prison since Nov. 6, 2007, four days after Kercher's body had been found at the apartment. They were released when their convictions were overturned on Oct. 3, 2011.

Knox returned to Seattle with her family the next day, and following a press conference at the airport, she had remained silent.

Trying to keep a low profile was difficult at first. Knox, dubbed "Foxy Knoxy" in the British tabloids, was followed by paparazzi for several months following her return to Seattle. Despite the worldwide attention on Knox, many Seattle news outlets refrained from contacting her out of respect for her privacy.

The announcement of Knox's first interview with ABC News comes just as her book is slated to be released on April 30. The book, "Waiting to be Heard," was announced last February and is reportedly worth $4 million.

Knox's exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer will air during an ABC News Primetime Special on Tuesday, April 30 at 10 p.m.

I hope she gives an update
on her search for the real killers. Seems to be the pattern-behavior for this kind of person.

    Obviously...
you have no idea what you are talking about. The real killer is in jail and was in jail before she was. Rudy Guede. He had cuts to his hand. His handprint in the victim's blood was found near the body. His DNA was found on and in the body of the victim. His bloody shoeprints were found at the crime scene.

It never ceases to amaze me the level of trolls...
And generally unuseful posts people make to online forums.

Tyrone, either you're trolling (which is what I strongly suspect), or you're just plain ignorant (which is also likely).

    I should add...
That while I don't plan to buy the book, I do find myself at least partially interested in the story.

So while some of you think that it's a "waste of time" for these stories to be posted in the news, perhaps you need to realize that the world doesn't revolve around you and that there are many other people that do find it interesting.

    You do realize...
that there was absolutely zero evidence that she had anything to do with the crime at all? You do realize that the real killer is in jail? The killer that left bloody shoeprints, bloody handprints, DNA on and in the victim?

    Untrue
there was a lot of evidence, however police handled it poorly so that in the appeal, it was thrown out.

Just like R. Kelly didn't actually rape a 15-year-old girl even though it was on video, because the authorities did not have the proper warrant to obtain that video.

    Diane Sawyer is pretty smart
So I expect she'll have Foxy Knoxy frisked by security for knives before getting too close. Wonder when she's gonna sit down for a Mark Fuhrman interview?
