Rock star Dave Matthews meets hoops star on Seattle street

A chance encounter on a Seattle street proves that even some celebrities are not above being star struck.

Musician Dave Matthews was walking in the Wallingford neighborhood when he spotted a member of the world famous basetball troupe, the Harlem Globetrotters. Dizzy Grant was dressed in Globetroters warm up gear.

Matthews reportedly commented "is that really a Globetrotter?" To which Grant replied, Are you really Dave Matthews?" Yes and yes.

The two entertainers had a photo snapped, showing Matthews standing next to a smiling Grant, who is spinning a basketball on his finger.

According to the Harlem Globetrotters publicity director, Matthews told Grant about fond memories of watching the Harlem Globetrotters as a kid at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Grant was on his way to visit St. Benedict's School to give a talk on bullying.

The Globetrotters are playing four games in the Seattle area, starting this Friday.

Saw the Globe Trotters a number of times at Madison Square Garden
Meadowlark Lemmon, against the Washington Generals.

I heard Kersey tried to tie them up to a pickup bumper.

    They kicked his a$s.

Had this near midget who could do reliable sets from nearly half court. All too funny.
