Seattle high school coach sent players to find him dates
on March 8, 2013 @ 6:00 am (Updated: 10:42 am - 3/11/13 )It wasn't the wind-sprints or excessive infield practice that got a Seattle high school softball coach kicked off the job. It was his making his players troll for dates.
Just six days into his new gig as softball coach at Roosevelt High, 25-year-old Troy Hennum has been put on unpaid leave.
The Seattle Times reports his players weren't shagging flies they were finding dates. They were sent during practice to find cute girls that he might date. He wanted pictures and phone numbers too.
Hennum started a texting relationship with a 21 year old his players had found. Eventually she started getting creeped-out and called the school.
This is the second time Hennum has been investigated for this type of behavior. He was disciplined at Lake Washington High last year for sending texts to a player.
