Woman opening Tacoma daycare center beaten severely
March 18, 2013 @ 9:42 am (Updated: 11:33 am - 3/18/13 )A woman arriving for work Monday at a child daycare in Tacoma was severely beaten.
Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool says the victim has been unable to talk with detectives because of a concussion and possible broken jaw.
The man was reportedly waiting outside the Tender Heart Learning Center about 6:40 a.m. Monday when the worker arrived. He asked about enrolling a child, so she let him inside.
"There was a man waiting who stated that he wanted to enroll his kid in daycare. She allowed him into the building and he proceeded to brutally attack her," says Cool.
The beating was interrupted by another employee arriving for work. The attacker fled on foot.
Police are looking for the man, described as about 5-foot-6 with a very narrow face and short afro.
