First day of spring being ushered in with last winter stormMarch 19, 2013 @ 3:27 pm (Updated: 3:30 pm - 3/19/13 )
"This is the last full day of winter and it's going to feel like winter on into the first day of spring," says KING 5 meteorologist Keisha Burns.
The National Weather Service says precipitation will move into Washington Tuesday afternoon and continue through Wednesday night with strong winds.
"A lot of rain will impact the coast starting tonight. In addition to that, the wind will be picking up, we're talking gusts over 40 plus," says Burns. "It's going to be a stormy evening."
With heavy snow expected in the mountains, the Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the Olympics and central and north Cascades where two to three feet of new snow are possible.
Forecasters say Eastern Washington is in for the same mix of rain, wind and mountain snow.
