A college student from Sammamish has created an anti-rape PSA that's getting a lot of attention. It features a male actor who finds a young woman passed out on a couch.
The video begins with the man saying, "Hey bros, check who passed out on the couch, guess what I'm going to do to her."
The man in the video goes and gets her a pillow, covers her with a blanket and leaves her a glass of water.
"Real men treat women with respect," the man says.
Oregon film student Samantha Stendal says she came up with the idea for the video during finals week.
"I told my friend about it and got him involved and he helped me find some actor friends."
Stendal was inspired to take action after the high-profile rape case in Steubenville, Ohio.
"It's upsetting to me to see all the victim blaming that's going on online."
Stendal's video called "A Needed Response" was just uploaded Friday and has already been viewed more than 950,000 times.
"I was not expecting this reaction," says Stendal. "I'm just happy that with this video we're changing the discussion from what she could have done to what we should be doing for her when she's passed out."
