Seattle Public Library now holds the world record for the longest book domino chain.
Almost 30 volunteers set up 2,131 books Friday night on the third floor, only to push them all over. It takes almost three minutes for the chain to topple over, moving up ramps, across bookshelves, and spelling out “Read” on the library floor.
While the video is only minutes long, it took seven hours and five attempts to set up all the books.
The domino chain was all part of an effort to promote its summer reading program.
The previous record of a 1,000-book domino chain was set in 2011 by an organization called Responsible Fishing in the United Kingdom.
