Hiker dies in fall at Rattlesnake Ridge

Aug 29, 2013, 2:52 PM | Updated: 3:01 pm

A late summer hike turned tragic for a couple at Rattlesnake Ridge near North Bend.

King County Sheriff’s Sergeant Cindy West says a man fell more than a hundred feet to his death as the woman he was hiking with was trying to take his picture.

“The woman told us she was taking pictures at the top of the ledge. The male that was with her jumped down to another ledge, then decided he was going to jump over to a rock. When he tried to get to the rock, he slipped and fell.”

The woman called 911 and search and rescue teams were dispatched. The teams were able to located the body.
The man has not yet been identified.
