When putting your name in the hat for the world's largest gift exchange, you never know who you'll be matched up with. One lucky woman just happened to be drawn by none other than Bill Gates.
"My jaw hit the EVER LOVING FLOOR," writes reddit user Rachel, about the moment she realized her secret Santa was Gates.
The co-founder of Microsoft and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation gifted her a stuffed cow, representative of a donation of an actual cow given to a family in need through Heifer International, and a travel book based on her expressed interest in travel.
"I am so very, very grateful for the amazing and thoughtful gift you have picked for me!," Rachel wrote in a post detailing her gift experience. "Not only is the gift PERFECT from anyone, but I am sincerely very appreciative that you took the time to find something so fitting for me."
And in case there was any doubt that it wasn't the real Bill Gates on the other end of the gift, Gates packed along a picture of him with her stuffed cow and his gift note that read:
My Secret Santa present to you is a cow! Don't worry - you will not have to build a barn. This cow will be given to a family in need, in your name, through Heifer International. It will provide them with income and dairy products, and it will help them help themselves. Happy Holidays.
Rachel says the note didn't indicate how much Gates donated in her name, but adds, "I can only imagine it was QUITE a bit." She also encouraged others to donate to the cause thanks to Gates' introduction.
"I feel SO shocked and excited that not only did I receive a gift from Bill, but it was perfectly and EXACTLY tuned into my interests. My gosh, what a rush!! I cannot express how much I really loved reading about a new charity. By the way everyone, you should go donate too! http://www.heifer.org/"
