Burn ban takes effect for King, Snohomish and Pierce counties

There won't be any roaring fires Christmas night in King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties.

A Stage 1 Burn Ban will take effect Wednesday at 5 p.m. which means no fires in fireplaces or uncertified wood stoves, or outside fires.

Violators of the ban could get fined up to $1,000.
