Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly poured gas on the second level of a Capitol Hill bar and set it on fire.
Seattle Police say the suspect poured gasoline on a carpeted stairway just after midnight on New Year’s at Capitol Hill nightclub Neighbours.
Over 750 patrons were celebrating New Year’s at the time and police say the fire was quickly discovered.
Someone pulled the bar’s fire alarm, activating a sprinkler system, and patrons evacuated the bar without any injuries.
The fire didn’t spread beyond the stairway and was put out with a fire extinguisher.
Arson Bomb Detectives (ABS) responded after being notified by Seattle Fire Department investigators. No suspect information was available from police but the investigation continues.
