If the Seahawks made music, what would it sound like?
There’s been a lot of talk this week comparing the Seattle Seahawks to big names in music. Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas kicked off the conversation in a chat with ESPN where he was trying to draw distinction between the Seahawks and other teams in the league.
“We’re in sync and we’re swarming the ball. We just have a different sound. It’s funky and nasty; James Brown-type stuff. It’s very unique.”
Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll was the next to be drawn in with a question from KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson on The Pete Carroll Show.
“What musician would you compare your team to?” asked Monson, adding that James Brown was not an allowable answer.
“I would like to think that we could be something like Jimi Hendrix,” said Carroll, smartly highlighting a Seattle native.
Carroll said Hendrix had an incredible amount of creativity and explosive potential.
“He’d be a band with just himself, a bass guitar and a drummer, and it would sound like there’s eight guys playing,” said Carroll. “I wish we could be that diversified and that versatile to have that kind of power that he had.”
Do you like Carroll’s answer? What musician would you compare the Seahawks to?
