Seattle police detectives are searching for the gunman in a shooting Friday afternoon that wounded two people in South Seattle.
Seattle police say they responded to reports of gunfire in the Rainier Beach area just after 2 p.m. and located a vehicle speeding out of the area.
Police stopped the car at Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. and S. Othello Street and found two men with gunshot wounds inside the vehicle.
Both men were transported to Harborview Medical Center with what Seattle police report were non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the men have been tentative to speak about what led up to the shooting, but police believe they were shot in the 9100 block of Rainier Avenue S.
Several schools in the area, including Rainier Beach High School, South Lake High School, SouthShore K-8 and Dunlap Elementary, were put in lockdown. Authorities are working with the schools to take them off lockdown for the conclusion of the school day.
