An Everett firefighter has been ordered held on $50,000 bail following his arrest for allegedly trying to pay for sex with an underage girl
David “Pete” Vier, 60, of Arlington, waived his initial court appearance Thursday. A statement of probable cause says he was arrested Wednesday after allegedly arriving at a Seattle fast food restaurant thinking he would be paying $150 to have sex with a minor. He is being held for investigation of commercial sex abuse of a minor and communicating with a child for immoral purposes.
A detective with the Seattle Police Department’s Vice & High Risk Victims Unit says in the charging documents he posted an online ad last week offering to pay for sex with a minor.
The detective traded several emails with the suspect from an email account named “Fire Medic Pete Vier.” He says Vier described sex acts he wanted to perform with the young girl.
The statement says Vier also agreed to bring lubricant, condoms and a vibrator.
He was taken into custody when he arrived at the pre-arranged location Wednesday.
Police found lubricant, condoms, a vibrator, batteries and erectile-dysfunction medication inside the car. They also found a receipt from an adult sex store in Everett showing Vier had purchased the sexual supplies one hour before the meeting.
City of Everett spokeswoman Meghan Pembroke would not comment but confirmed the arrest, saying the 60-year-old firefighter and paramedic has been with the department since 1991. She says he has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
