Bill Cosby’s April show in Tacoma has been cancelled amidst a growing uproar over allegations that he sexually assaulted several women in the past.
Cosby was slated to perform at the Broadway Center in Tacoma on April 18, 2015.
“This decision is not intended to pass judgment on Mr. Cosby that is not the business of the Broadway Center,” said David Fischer, the Broadway Center’s Executive Director. “We’ve been deliberate and thoughtful in making this decision, carefully considering our many relationships and legal obligations, including those with Mr. Cosby, with ticket buyers, and with our community.”
The Broadway Center is taking refund requests and recommends ticket buyers exchange for another performance at the theater.
The Treasure Island hotel and casino in Las Vegas announced Friday it will no longer feature Cosby in a Nov. 28 show. No reason was given by the Diamond Desert casino in Tucson, Arizona, for canceling his Feb. 15 show.
Two other appearances, scheduled for April in Champaign, Illinois, also were called off Friday, as was a February show in Florence, South Carolina.
NBC said it dropped plans for a Cosby sitcom and “The Cosby Show” reruns have been pulled from TV Land. Cosby’s Nov. 28 special on Netflix has been postponed.
Producers said Cosby still planned to bring his comedy routine to a sold-out theater in Melbourne, Florida, Friday night, and at least 31 other shows remain on his schedule through May 2015.
