Cold front brings chance of snow in convergence zone

Nov 27, 2014, 8:17 AM | Updated: 1:28 pm

The National Weather Service says a cold front will will move across the area tonight producing heavy rain over the mountains and parts of the Puget Sound region.

Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-30’s Friday evening. The drop in temperatures may produce some snow from north Seattle up through Arlington.

Any snow is expected to end by mid-afternoon Saturday as the air mass begins to dry out.

KING 5 Meteorologist Rich Marriott says if you’re headed over the mountain passes, maybe for Apple Cup, head out before midday Saturday. Temperatures are expected to drop to the teens for the game.

A flood watch remains in effect through Friday for rivers on the west side of the Cascades and the south Puget Sound region. The National Weather Service does not expect major flooding.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
