A threat left outside a classroom prompted the district to close a middle school in Issaquah Wednesday morning.
The school district said the typed letter threatened violence against four Pacific Cascade Middle School staff members this Friday with reference to having access to a gun. It also included violence at lunch or during the winter assembly on Friday.
Students were already on their way to school Wednesday morning when administrators made the decision to cancel classes for the day. Bus riders were rerouted back home and were expected to arrive around 10:30 a.m. Staff was on the campus to alert kids who didn’t get the message.
Police are working with the district to investigate the threat.
The district has not yet made a decision about classes on Thursday and Friday, but will post updates when it has more information.
