Too much to flush: Man fails at dumping heroin down toilet

Feb 26, 2015, 9:32 AM | Updated: 10:19 am

The amount of heroin a man tried to flush down a gas station toilet was just too much to handle Tuesday night.

When a Monroe police officer approached the men’s restroom of the gas station on West Main Street, a man exiting the restroom ran into the women’s restroom and locked the door. The officer heard a toilet flush.

As the officer made an attempt to enter the restroom, another flush was heard.

“Upon entry, the officer could see suspected heroin lying all around the toilet and small chunks scattered throughout the restroom,” according to the Monroe Police Department. “The officer also observed a dark brown substance in the bottom of the toilet that was removed for evidence.”

The man admitted to having heroin.

A woman allegedly associated with the man was waiting at a vehicle. When officers approached, she asked for cigarettes the man had.

After retrieving the cigarette pack, an officer noticed a large chunk of brown substance in the pack, identified as heroin.

Officers collected 46 grams of heroin and a digital scale with residue.

The man and woman were booked in the Snohomish County Jail on possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver.
