Jean Godden trails, Kshama Sawant leads in early primary election results

Many Seattle voters waited to see their new City Council districts begin to take shape on Primary Election Night.
As expected, both Kshama Sawant and Pamela Banks dominated District 3 in early results. Incumbents Bruce Harrell, Mike O’Brien, Sally Bagshaw, and Tim Burgess led in their districts.

Longtime council member Jean Godden was trailing by 184 votes in results on Tuesday night. The top two candidates move on to the general election. Beating Godden were Rob Johnson with 33.72 percent and Michael Maddux with 22.82 percent. Godden came in at 21.07 percent.
Both John Lovick (32.91 percent) and Dave Somers (31.43 percent) led in the Snohomish County Executive race. Robert Sutherland came in third with 26.44 percent of the vote.
