Mysterious threat closes high schools in Kirkland, Redmond

Following a mysterious threat left in a bathroom, Juanita High School will be closed Friday, Feb. 5.

Redmond High School is also closing down.

Kirkland police planned to provide extra patrols at a Juanita High School after a threat was written in a girls bathroom.

A message was written on a dispenser in the bathroom. It was discovered on Feb. 2. Police say it is unknown if the message is directed at one or more people, or when the message was written.

The message is being considered a threat by police and targets Feb. 5. Local police are increasing officer presence around the high school over the next few days.
