Shooting at Muckleshoot Casino leaves seven people injured

Multiple people were hit by gunfire at Muckleshoot Casino early Sunday morning.

Authorities say seven people are hospitalized with gunshot wounds following a shooting in a casino near Seattle.

The dispatch center for the Auburn police department says the shooting occurred at a nightclub, Club Galaxy, inside the Muckleshoot Casino about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

The center says the seven victims were rushed to area hospitals, including at least two taken by air ambulance.

KIRO Reporter Tim Haeck was on scene, and has interviewed several witnesses to the gunfire.

One man told Haeck that he first thought the DJ was messing around, but then he heard more gunshots and knew it was the 'real thing.'

The alleged shooter was tackled on the scene and arrested.

Auburn Police Commander Jamie Sidell says a 42-year-old Covington man apparently fired the shots when he found his wife or girlfriend with another man. Both were shot, and the other five victims were hurt when the man kept firing.

"It looks like the person came up there with a purpose," said Sidell.

Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg says four of the victims, three women and a man, were brought to her Seattle facility, about 30 miles north of Auburn.

She says two are in critical condition and two are serious.

The other three victims were sent to Valley Medical Center in Renton, but their conditions are unknown at this time.
