Coyote attack decimates restaurant's chickens
BY Lisa Brooks on January 7, 2012 @ 10:30 am (Updated: 11:31 am - 1/7/12 )
Since it's inception, "The Herbfarm", has been famous for locally grown and sourced organic ingredients. That includes the eggs from specially raised chickens in their own coops.
Unfortunately, the hens are gone. Somehow, coyotes got inside the electrified fence and killed about a hundred of them. Herbfarm owner Carrie Van Dyck says just one forlorn chicken was left.
They coyotes stayed away from the neighboring pigs and ducks.
And now, workers are replacing the old solar-powered electric fence with a stronger one.
