WSU sorority gets 'death penalty' for hazing, drinking

WSU's conduct board has sanctioned the Pi Beta Phi's, saying the sorority is responsible for hazing and underage drinking new pledges.
Hazing expert Hank Nuwer told King-TV that "hazing has become a form of cheap entertainment," for young college students looking to join the Greek system.
The sanctions mean the sorority loses university recognition and support and the women won't be able to use campus facilities or take part in university-related events under the Pi Beta Phi charter.
The sorority has 21 days to appeal to the university board, and if upheld, sanctions would last until June 2014.
