Woman killed driving wrong way on 520
A wrong-way driver was killed when her car collided head-on with a semi-truck about 4 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 520 in Bellevue.
The Washington State Patrol says it initially received reports of the car stopped with no lights in a construction zone. The car was clipped by another vehicle. It spun around and was headed in the wrong direction when it collided with the truck.
Trooper Julie Startup told KOMO Radio alcohol may have been a factor in the woman's fatal accident.
Westbound 520 was closed just west of I-405 for most of the morning commute and traffic was detoured to 108th Ave. The roadway reopened around 9:00 a.m.
