"I saw him and asked him if he was a local and if he could help me out a little bit, help me figure out where I could propose," Everett Paul tells KING 5. "He stood up and he started pointing out different spots to me, like we're standing shoulder to shoulder."
Paul said after seeing the story in the news, he began connecting the dots.
"I got a little interested in the story and I looked it up online and low and behold I see this guy's face, and I'm like - Are you kidding me? That's definitely the guy."
The run-in happened just a day after Keller is believed to have killed his wife and daughter in their North Bend home.
Keller's wife, Lynnettee, and 18-year-old daughter, Kaylene, were found shot dead in their burning home on April 22.
Keller was found dead in his bunker hideout near Rattlesnake Ridge after a SWAT standoff April 28.
