Fire in Seattle's International District leaves 4,700 without power
on May 21, 2012 @ 3:46 pm (Updated: 5:47 am - 5/22/12 )Following a fire that broke out in an electrical vault in Seattle's International District, nearly 5,000 Seattle City Light customers found themselves without power Monday afternoon.
Reports of smoke emerging from an underground electrical vault near 13th Avenue S and S Bayview Street brought crews to the scene.
City Light believes 4,700 homes and businesses in First Hill, Beacon Hill, the Chinatown-International District and the South Seattle were affected by the fire.
