Two people found shot dead in Shelton home

People in Shelton heard gunshots about 1:00am, and police found a man and woman dead inside a home on Harvard Avenue.

Detectives had to wait several hours to get a search warrant before going inside. It appears to be a double homicide. Shortly after entering the home, a SWAT team was called, and it descended on the house next door.

A woman and some young children came running outside. The situation turned into a stand-off with a man and woman inside. The two eventually came-out after police fired tear gas into the home.

Shelton Police Lieutenant Les Watson told MyNorthwest.com this is first homicide investigation in the city in several years. "We historically don't have one or two or three in a given year," he said. "It's been a few years since we've had our last homicide here."

Watson said officers have been at the home before, but he's not sure if these are the same people they have dealt with in the past.

    REALLY???? REALLY???
Are you kidding me, police needs to get a search warrant to enter a house that had reported gun shots.......oh boy, no wonder criminals are winning. Good grief people grow up. Please, please enter my house any time as fast as you can if you hear gun shots, no warrant necessary to make sure my family is OK.

    Translation, please.
This article makes no sense. It is so convoluted. Or maybe it is the allergy medication I took?

SWAT went into the wrong house?
" Shortly after entering the home, a SWAT team was called, and it descended on the house next door." then they had to use tear gas? to get the wronged neighbors out of the house? there's a lot missing from this story.

    @ NWGUY
I feel better knowing that I was not the only one confused by this article.

It was just poorly written by someone who was familiar with the encounter and assumed we knew the details.

I have since read another article on this incident and it makes more sense...... now!!
