Two people found shot dead in Shelton home
on May 28, 2012 @ 5:43 am (Updated: 10:34 am - 5/28/12 )People in Shelton heard gunshots about 1:00am, and police found a man and woman dead inside a home on Harvard Avenue.
Detectives had to wait several hours to get a search warrant before going inside. It appears to be a double homicide. Shortly after entering the home, a SWAT team was called, and it descended on the house next door.
A woman and some young children came running outside. The situation turned into a stand-off with a man and woman inside. The two eventually came-out after police fired tear gas into the home.
Shelton Police Lieutenant Les Watson told MyNorthwest.com this is first homicide investigation in the city in several years. "We historically don't have one or two or three in a given year," he said. "It's been a few years since we've had our last homicide here."
Watson said officers have been at the home before, but he's not sure if these are the same people they have dealt with in the past.
