The mother of Teekah Lewis, a Tacoma toddler who disappeared over a decade ago, says her teenage daughter was the victim of an attempted child luring.

Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum says detectives are investigating the claims of Theresa Lewis.

She reported a man approached her 14-year-old daughter at a Tacoma convenience store Monday, asked the girl how old she was, then told her she was cute and wanted to take her with him, according to Fulghum.

The man then drove away, reportedly with two young children in the back seat.

Teekah Lewis disappeared Jan. 23, 1999 from New Frontier Lanes bowling alley in Tacoma. She was 2 years old at the time. She has never been found.

She just likes the spotlight. I mean come on, it's been 13 yrs now. I agree with the other comment. This is a non issue.....nothing happened. I haven't seen this particular girl but if she dresses anything like other 14- year olds i've seen, the guy probly thought she was 24
