Police detain suspect in Belltown shooting
on July 15, 2012 @ 3:03 pm (Updated: 5:31 am - 7/16/12 )Gunfire broke out again on First Avenue in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood when a crowd gathered in a parking lot early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the 2100 block of First Avenue South when a fight broke out in a parking lot.
A crowd had apparently gathered when someone started firing shots.
When officers arrived, they saw several individuals get into a parked car in an attempt to flee the scene. Police were able to chase down the vehicle successfully.
Six people were detained, including a 21-year-old man who was identified by witnesses as the gunman. He was arrested for investigation of a weapons violation.
No one was hit by the gunfire.
