Redmond Police have released a sketch of a suspect who
they believe broke into a woman’s home and
sexually assaulted her early Tuesday morning.

The woman was reportedly studying at about 2:00 a.m. when
the suspect entered through a rear sliding door, went into
the bedroom, put a knife to her throat and sexually
assaulted her.

Police don’t believe the woman knew her attacker.

“It is very rare for somebody to be sexually assaulted and
not know the suspect, but at this point we don’t have any
reason to believe the victim knew the suspect,” says
police spokesman Jim Bove.

A K-9 unit searched the area in the 8500 block of 148th
Avenue NE
but could not find the suspect. Detectives
believe the suspect fled north through the parking lot,
but
likely got into a car and drove away.

The suspect is described as a white or light skinned
Latino
male with a strong foreign accent, medium build, wearing a
dark colored baseball hat, white T-shirt underneath a dark
colored sweatshirt or jacket. Police are asking the
public
to call their tip line at 425-556-2581, if they have further information on the whereabouts of the suspect.
