Seattle police nab suspect in murder of Madrona dad

Jul 19, 2012, 1:51 PM | Updated: 3:17 pm

Seattle Police say they have arrested the killer of a dad
who was driving through Seattle’s Central District in May
and hit by a stray bullet.

“Just because we’ve made an arrest doesn’t mean this is
over. There’s still a lot of investigative work that needs
to be done, but we do believe we have our man,” said Sgt.
Sean Whitcomb.

He said U.S. Marshals took the 20-year-old man into
custody at his home in Federal Way on Thursday.

Ferrari, 43, was driving his van on Martin
Luther King Jr.
Way and E. Cherry Street
on May
24 just as a
man on foot began firing a gun at people he was arguing
with. Ferrari had just picked his parents up from the
airport
and also had his two children in the van.

No one else was hurt. Witnesses said they saw Ferrari’s
father cradling his son’s head shortly after hearing the
gunshot.

Ferrari’s two children, ages 4 and 7, ran to the safety of
her restaurant after the shooting. They stayed
for about 45 minutes and asked for something to eat.
