FBI searching for 'Tour de Bikes' bank robber
on August 2, 2012 @ 3:52 pm (Updated: 5:15 pm - 8/2/12 )The FBI has come up with another catchy name while trying to catch a serial bank robber.
"We've linked him now to seven bank robberies, and in most of them he's left the scene riding a bicycle so we started calling him the Tour de Banks Robber," says Ayn Sandalo Dietrich with the FBI's Seattle Office.
The man wears all black and is armed with either a gun or knife in each case. They think he has hit banks in Bothell, Woodinville and Monroe over the past seven months.
Because of his clothing, they are unable to give an accurate description of the suspect. Although, he does seem to have the build of a cyclist.
"The suspect's been described as being maybe between 5 foot 6, 5 foot 10 and of a slight to medium build," says Dietrich.
The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest and CrimeStoppers added $1,000 to the reward.
