WSDOT to close I-90 for rock blasts
on August 20, 2012 @ 11:34 am (Updated: 1:01 pm - 8/20/12 )If you're headed over Snoqualmie Pass this week, you may want to plan for delays.
Rock blasting starts Monday at 7:30 p.m. for an hour. Expect closures Wednesday and Thursday, too.
"We're closing for the safety of the public. We hope that it's only an hour, but it may be longer depending on the amount of debris that comes down," says Summer Derrey spokesperson with WSDOT.
The construction zone begins at exit 45 through Easton with intermittent one lane travel and rolling slowdowns.
Derrey says blasts will make way for more lanes along I-90.
