Pac-12, DirecTV squabble leaves fans out in the cold
on August 31, 2012 @ 4:46 am (Updated: 9:46 am - 8/31/12 )Husky fans with satellite TV had better buy a ticket to the season opener Saturday against San Diego State because the game most likely won't be on the screen.
The Husky game is being broadcast on the fledgling Pac-12 Network which isn't available for DirecTV and Dish Network customers. Those satellite providers have refused to join the network. That means Pac-12 fans with those plans will miss out on 35 conference games unless a deal can be reached.
Saturday's game at CenturyLink Field is the only Husky game currently scheduled on the Pac-12 Network so it might not be an issue for much of the season when games will be available on other networks.
This week, the Pac-12 sent an open letter to all its fans encouraging them to switch providers.
The game will air on Comcast and other providers in the state.
There are still plenty of tickets available for the game if you want to catch it in person.
