Detectives looking for 7-week-old girl in danger

King County Sheriff's Deputies are asking for the public's help to locate a 7-week-old baby girl who is believed to be in danger.

The girl was last seen with her mother, 33-year-old Trina Curry, at a relative's home in Shoreline on Sept. 4. Deputies say Curry left with the child after an argument and may be with the girl's father, 39-year-old Quandra R. Powell.

Both have a history of violence, according to King County Sheriff Steve Strachan.

Child Protective Services has removed seven other children from Curry's custody due to abuse, neglect, and mental health issues.

The baby's father has two felony warrants, one for escape from community custody. He is also wanted for manufacturing a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

Deputies believe Curry used a fake name when she gave birth to the girl at Highline Hospital in Burien on July 17.

CPS received a "pick-up" order for the baby, but police have been unable to locate Curry or baby "Lillian." Curry is homeless and does not drive.

Both Powell and Curry are said to have "violent tendencies." Powell is described as 5'9", 190 lbs with a gold front tooth. Curry is described at 5'6" 160 lbs.

If you know the whereabouts of any of these individuals, please do not contact them. Call the King County Sheriff's Office at (206) 396-3311 or 911.

...and 7 other children removed from her?
This woman is a perfect example of why some people should be sterilized.

Forced sterilization is one answer for some
but you will never get it past the legal and constitutional challenges. There was a time when we sterilized the mentally ill and event hat was thrown out. The court can remove children and that's what they tried with this couple, but she gave the hospital a fake name when she delivered and removed the baby without consent. I myself think that some people breed like rats and they should be looked down on especially when they cant afford the children they make. That there should be a Chinese like limit on births per mother of two and then sterilization. I also think births should be tied to economic carbonesque credits. The poor can have just one because they are usually on drugs or have other problems, the rich can have just one because the biggest cause of the poor is the rich and the rich continual strive to displace and separate themselves from the greater part of their social responsibility. Middle class three because they are the most reasonable economical productive class.

I agree 100%. When you are proven to be unfit and reckless with children, you shouldn't be free to have them. I say 3 strikes you're out. This is not about race, it's about the welfare of children....and please throw this guy in a hole somewhere.

I'm tempted to agree with Drool and 333 but...
the clues here are "homeless, mental health issues, don't drive." They obviously don't know one end of a condom from the other. Sad, but it's the world we live in. Thank God mandatory sterilization is not a part of that world. I don't have an answer but government control can't be it.

It would be the same system that puts people in Jail and takes children away, it would just be a litte more efficiant. Are you willing to take care of child #4 if child number 1,2 and 3 are removed...and then we're all shocked that #4 ain't working out either? It seem you're choosing the rights of the crimainal parents over the innocent child...in theory

    what a horribly sad story...
I hope they find this baby. Mental issues? I am assuming this is why the woman hasn't decided to tie her own tubes... seven children and homeless? Wow.

    This is an important issue
Beyond the outraged hyperbole is a serious conversation about whether or not we as a society can find a reasonable, sensible and humane path to sterilizing women temporarily while they are in a protracted cycle of drug abuse coupled with child abandonment/endangerment. It would make sense that we have a responsibility to the potential victims of women like these to make sure they can't create more victims until they're proven to be fit for child-bearing by acceptable standards. Yes, proof positive that women can and should be sterilized under certain circumstances.
